GMP project v.GC: Tonn and Blank Construction
Contact: Scott Wells, (317) 423-1020
Project Scope: New 6 story, 431K s.f. hospital addition to existing hospital. Work included adding new 15KV substation on campus site and refeeding hospital. Work included switching over 22 existing ATS units during multiple schedule outages keeping all primary hospital systems operational. New paralleling gear and generators were added to existing central plant. Installation included Divisions 26, 27, and 28 by own forces as with the SERH project. The project was released under 3 phases; site lighting, site power distribution with central plant additions, and main expansion. LECO was brought in during design assist. Value management was reviewed during Design Development and incorporated in future estimates. Construction estimate was over budget due to scope increases of unknown work due to ATS change-outs. VE options were discussed but were not sought out. At end of the project, value savings of $750K was given back to the owner.
